Cardinals At Reds Tonight

After a day off on Tuesday, the Cardinals resume their season-opening series against the Reds tonight in Cincinnati. Michael Wacha will start for St. Louis, while Cincinnati counters with Tony Cingrani. Game time is 6:10. The Cardinals shut out the Reds 1-0 on Monday.

Voting for the Cardinals Hall of Fame continues through April 22nd. Fans can vote at Cardinals.com/HOF for two of eight candidates. The top two among Keith Hernandez, Jim Edmonds, Bob Forsch, Willie McGee, Mark McGwire, Ted Simmons, Joe Torre and Matt Morris will be enshrined August 16th.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Senior Baseball Player Spencer Juergens from St. Francis Borgia Regional High School in Washington. Spencer is the Ace of the pitching staff with a 4-0 record. He has given up just one run this season and currently sports an earned run average of .33. Spencer has allowed 11 hits in 21 innings but no extra base hits. He has struck out 16 while walking two for a strike out to walk ratio of 8.1.

The Wild established the upper hand in a back-and-forth series with a 4-1 win over the Blues at the Scottrade Center. After the Blues took an early lead, the Wild reeled off four goals. Marco Scandella tied it in the first, and then Nino Niederreiter and Mikko Koivu lit the lamp in the second to put Minnesota up for good. Charlie Coyle iced the cake in the final period, and Devan Dubnyk made 36 saves as the Wild lead the series, 3-2.
