Cardinals Pummel Pirates

Jon Jay was 2-for-4 with three runs and two RBI to help the Cardinals crush the Pirates 13-0 and snap a seven-game slide. Allen Craig and Tony Cruz also knocked in two runs each for St. Louis, which avoided the rare five-game sweep. Joe Kelly allowed three hits and four walks in six innings for the win. The Cards and Reds begin a three-game series tonight.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is 5-6 Freshman Basketball Player Cassidy Moss from St. Francis Borgia Regional High School in Washington. Cassidy was named the Most Valuable Player of the Sullivan Tournament last week and was an important part of Borgia's run to the title. She is averaging 15 points and 2.5 rebounds, more than three assists and two steals per game.
