Cardinals Double Up Mets

Daniel Descalso scored the go-ahead run on a wild pitch in the seventh and the Cardinals doubled up the Mets, 4-2. Yadier Molina added an insurance RBI single in the eight, while Jon Jay and Tony Cruz knocked in the other runs for the Redbirds, who will look to sweep the four-game set Thursday. Seth Maness was credited with his third win. Edward Mujica notched his 11th save. St. Louis has won 12-of-14. The teams wrap up the series at 12:45 today.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Senior Taylor Covington with the New Haven Track and Field Team. Taylor earned All-State honors medaling in four events at the state track meet at Lincoln University in Jefferson City Friday and Saturday. She ran anchor on the 4X800 relay team that finished in sixth place.

What will the future hold for the Class of 2015? Time will tell.

My youngest has now graduated from high school. Back in 1980, I was the youngest of my family who graduated.
