Cardinals Crush Pirates

Yadier Molina lifted a three-run homer to power the Cardinals to a 12-8 win over the Pirates in St. Louis. Jon Jay also knocked in three runs for St. Louis, which has won two-of-three. Matt Holiday and Carlos Beltran each drove in a pair of runs in the win. Joe Kelly gave up one run in six innings for the win. Edward Mujica picked up his 36th save. Josh Harrison hit a two-run homer for Pittsburgh, which has lost two straight. Jose Tabata also had two RBI in defeat. A.J. Burnett allowed five runs in three runs for the loss.

Missouri State's Nathan Scheer was one of nearly 900 men's college basketball players recognized by the National Association of Basketball Coaches with the release of the 2013-14 NABC Honors Court. To be recognized on the Honors Court, a student-athlete must be a junior or senior varsity player with a cumulative 3.20 grade point average or higher at the conclusion of the season.
