Cardinals' Carpenter Says Shoulder Symptoms Have Returned

Cardinals pitcher Chris Carpenter is feeling a recurrence of the symptoms in his neck and shoulder that caused him to miss most of 2012. The 37-year-old says it's discouraging but he's not ready to call it quits. "Carp" has been experiencing discomfort and numbness in his right shoulder and neck as well as discoloration in his right hand after recent throwing sessions. Carpenter says he'll get reevaluated once the team physicians return to St. Louis from spring training.
