Cardinals Blank Cubs

Yadier Molina belted a two-run home run as the Cardinals blanked the Cubs 4-0 at Wrigley Field. Matt Carpenter scored and drove in a run for St. Louis, which has alternated wins and losses the last five games. Joe Kelly allowed four hits and three walks while striking out six over six innings for the win. Nate Schierholtz was 2-for-4 for Chicago, which has lost five-of-six. Travis Wood gave up four runs over five-and-a-third innings for the loss.

The shootings at Emmanuel AME Church in Charleston, South Carolina, however, stands out for two main reasons.

It involved race, and it was done it a church.
