Caps Acquire Halak From Sabres

Ex Blues goalie Jaroslav Halak is on the move again. The Washington Capitals acquired the veteran netminder from the Buffalo Sabres before Wednesday's trade deadline. The Sabres just traded for Halak in a multi-player swap with St. Louis last Friday. The 28-year-old did not appear in a game for Buffalo after going 24-9-and-4 with a 2.23 goals-against average and four shutouts in 40 games with St. Louis.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Senior Swimmer Michael Matthews from St. Francis Borgia Regional High School in Washington. Michael medalled in two events at the state swim meet at the St. Peters Rec-Plex. He took 7th in the 50-Yard Freestyle and 4th in the 100-Yard Butterfly. Michael also medalled in four events in the AAA Conference meet, helping Borgia secure the conference title.
