Bulls Rush Grizzlies In St. Louis

The Chicago Bulls took it to the Memphis Grizzlies winning 106-87 at the Scottrade Center last night. Derek Rose scored 13 points and added three assists, Luol Deng added 13 points and three boards and Carlos Boozer dropped 16 points and snagged four rebounds for the Bulls who improved to 2-0 this preseason. Jerryd Bayless scored 15 points and dished out three assists in the loss for Memphis, in its first game this pre-season. Mike Conley and Mike Miller scored eight points apiece, while Ed Davis dropped in 13 points and grabbed five rebounds for the Grizzlies.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Freshman Cross Country Runner Julia McIntyre from New Haven High School. Julia finished sixth in the state meet in Jefferson City with a time of 20:58.40 at the Oak Hills Golf Course in Jefferson City earlier this month. She helped her team to a 12th place finish. Julia was a straight A student at Franklin County R-2 and she continues to get A's in high school.

Alex Collins ran for 130 yards and three touchdowns as the Missouri Tigers fell to Arkansas, 28-3, Friday afternoon at Reynolds Razorback Stadium. The defense for Mizzou could have hardly started any better, as they allowed positive yardage on just one of Arkansas' first eight plays. In all, five of those eight plays went for negative yardage, including a Ricky Hatley sack to give the defense two three-and-outs to start the game.
