Blues Top Stars In OT

The Blues remain undefeated in the NHL preseason after 3-2 overtime win over the Stars at the Scottrade Center Saturday. Patrik Berglund scored the winning goal on a power play in overtime. The Blues are at Minnesota on Wednesday in their second-to-last preseason game.

"The St. Louis Post Dispatch" reports that the Blues have spoken with veteran forward Brenden Morrow about signing with the team. Morrow was with Pittsburgh last season. He is considering offers from other teams as well.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is 6-3 Senior Guard Walton Eckelkamp of the St. Francis Borgia Basketball Team. Walton was the MVP of the Union Tournament last week. He scored 21 points in the championship leading Borgia to a 66-54 win over Columbia Rock Bridge. He hit four three's, dished out four assists and pulled down three rebounds.

The Blues ripped off three goals in the second period as they blitzed the Wild, 4-1 at the Scottrade Center. Vladimir Tarasenko scored his 26th goal of the year to start the scoring, with Jori Lehtera and Paul Stastny each adding goals in the second. Troy Brouwer added a goal in the third for St. Louis. Matt Dumba scored the lone goal for Minnesota, which has lost 10 of its past 11 games.
