Blues Take Out Predators

Patrik Berglund had a pair of goals as the Blues netted a 4-1 win over the Predators at Bridgestone Arena. Vladimir Tarasenko and Alexander Steen also lit the lamp for St. Louis, which has won seven out of eight. Ryan Miller stopped 29 shots in the win. Eric Nystrom had the lone tally for Nashville in defeat while Pekka Rinne made 22 saves. The Preds saw a three-game win streak end.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Owensville Sophomore Cross Country Runner Carter Bracato. Carter finished 13th in Class 3 with the best time of any local runner at state. He attacked the Oak Hill Golf Club Course in Jefferson City finishing with a time of 16:50.67, leading Owensville to a 6th place finish in the team standings.

The 2014/15 local high school basketball season tips off tonight with the 62nd Annual Thanksgiving Tournament at St. Francis Borgia Regional High School in Washington. Three games are on tap tonight with Cardinal Ritter going up against Rockwood Summit at 5:30. McCluer North plays Carnahan at 7:00, then Washington takes the floor against CBC at 8:30. The Washington/CBC game will be broadcast live on KLPW-AM 1220.
