Blues Sign Center Paul Stastny

The Blues made a big splash on the first day of NHL free agency by signing longtime Avalanche center Paul Stastny to a four-year, 28-million-dollar deal. Stastny spent all eight of his NHL seasons in Colorado and scored 25 goals for the Avs last season. The 28-year-old was thought to be the top center on the market this offseason.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Junior Running Back/Defensive Back Jonathan Braun with the St. Francis Borgia Knight Football Team. Braun ran the ball 21 times for 195 yards and two touchdowns in Friday night's 31-19 win over the Union Wildcats, averaging 9.3 yards per carry. He also plays defensive back where he made one tackle.

August 9, 2014, will forever be marked in the history books as the date Michael Brown was shot by a Ferguson police officer.

It is the aftermath of that event, however, which history will forever remember. The protesters, the looters, the agitators, the Hands Up Don't Shoot movement, the dramatic announcement of the grand jury, the buildings up in flames. In the process, the community and image of Ferguson was destroyed.
