Blues Edge Rangers

Kevin Shattenkirk's goal early in the third period stood as the winner for the Blues in a 2-1 win over the Rangers at Madison Square Garden. Alexander Steen scored the first goal for St. Louis before leaving the game with a lower body injury. David Backes assisted on both goals. Jaroslav Halak saved 34 shots in the victory. The Blues won the second of three games on their current road trip and end it at the New York Islanders on Saturday afternoon.

August 9, 2014, will forever be marked in the history books as the date Michael Brown was shot by a Ferguson police officer.

It is the aftermath of that event, however, which history will forever remember. The protesters, the looters, the agitators, the Hands Up Don't Shoot movement, the dramatic announcement of the grand jury, the buildings up in flames. In the process, the community and image of Ferguson was destroyed.
