Blues Clamp Down On Wild

Jaden Schwartz and Andy McDonald had a goal and an assist each to lead the Blues in a 4-1 win over the Wild. Barret Jackman and Kevin Shattenkirk also lit the lamp for St. Louis, which ended a three-game slide. Jaroslav Halak made five saves before departing late in the first period with a lower-body injury. Brian Elliott came on to stop 19-of-20 shots in relief. Dany Heatley had the lone goal for Minnesota while Niklas Backstrom turned away 20 shots in the cage. The Wild have dropped two out of three following a seven-game winning streak.

What happened? It's a classic case of two all-too-common phenomena in the world of government--unintended consequences and the revolving door.
