Blues, Blackhawks Alumni Play For Tornado Victims

Former Blues and Blackhawks players will rekindle their rivalry to help Illinois tornado victims. The Blues and Blackhawks Alumni will meet in an exhibition game being called "Skate Strong" at the Peoria Civic Center on January 15th. Proceeds from the 10-dollar tickets and a postgame auction of players' jerseys will benefit the Salvation Army Tornado Relief.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Union Post 297 Senior American Legion Baseball Player Trey Fink. Earlier this season in a game against St. Peters, Trey pitched a complete game with 11 strike outs and no walks in an 8-1 win. He also went the distance in a tough luck 6-1 loss to Washington. He only gave up four hits with 13 strike outs and one walk. Time and again, Trey has proven his ability to go deep into games.

The shootings at Emmanuel AME Church in Charleston, South Carolina, however, stands out for two main reasons.

It involved race, and it was done it a church.

The Washington Seniors played two games Sunday and finished 1-1 for the day. Post 218 thrashed Pacific 29-4 with Mitch Barrow posting five hits. In the second game, Washington lost to Warrenton 4-3 at Warrenton High School. Ben Stephens pitched a complete game with nine strike outs and five walks to post the win. The game was tied at two after the first inning.
