Blues Best Blue Jackets

The Blues scored three times in the opening period and they held on to top the Blue Jackets, 4-1. Barret Jackman, Patrik Berglund and Vladimir Tarasenko each lit the lamp in the first frame for St. Louis, which improved to 6-and-1. David Backes added an empty-netter late in the game. Brian Elliott stopped 24 shots in the win. The Blues are at Detroit tonight.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is 5-6 Freshman Basketball Player Cassidy Moss from St. Francis Borgia Regional High School in Washington. Cassidy was named the Most Valuable Player of the Sullivan Tournament last week and was an important part of Borgia's run to the title. She is averaging 15 points and 2.5 rebounds, more than three assists and two steals per game.
