T.J. Oshie and Vladimir Tarasenko each scored in the shootout to lift the Blues to a 4-3 win over the Predators from St. Louis. Tarasenko tied the game at three with 12 minutes left to play in regulation. Jaden Schwartz and David Backes also lit the lamp for St. Louis, which has won four of its last five. Brian Elliott had 28 saves in net for the victors. Paul Gaustad, Mike Fisher and Roman Josi all scored for Nashville, which had won two in-a-row. Carter Hutton made 31 saves in the loss.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Borgia Freshman Golfer Thomas Alferman. Alferman is a member of the Borgia team that qualified for the state tournament at Silo Ridge in Boliver this week. In the district tournament at the Sullivan Country Club, Thomas shot a 13 over par 84 helping the team to a second place finish.

Commencement, it is said, is a beginning. Yet graduations are also the end of an era--for students and their parents. For the kids, it's a time of excitement and promise. For parents, it's a bit more bittersweet.

What will the future hold for the Class of 2015? Time will tell.

My youngest has now graduated from high school. Back in 1980, I was the youngest of my family who graduated.

The Royals could have played with just two players and been fine in a 5-0 shutout of the Cardinals from Kauffman Stadium. Chris Young fired six innings of six-hit ball to improve to 4-and-0. Young walked two and struck out two as the Royals picked up their fourth straight win. Kendrys Morales took care of the offense with a five RBI night. Morales belted a three-run and a two-run home run in the first and third innings.
