Avs Defeat Blues

Jamie McGinn had two goals and an assist to help the Avalanche to a 5-3 win over the visiting Blues last night at Pepsi Center. David Backes had a goal and an assist while Kevin Shattenkirk and Jaden Schwartz also lit the lamp for St. Louis. Brian Elliott was pulled after allowing four goals on 19 shots. Jake Allen stopped 11-of-12 shots in relief as The Note saw its three-game winning streak end. The Blues and Avs play in St. Louis tomorrow.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Senior Golfer Brad Carpenter from Washington High School. In a recent match against Fort Zumwalt South at Wolf Hollow, Brad carded a six under par 29 to lead the team to a 148-176 win over the Bulldogs. Brad will attend Missouri State University in Springfield on a golf and academic scholarship. He started playing golf at the age of 12 and developed an immediate love for the game.
