American Legion Baseball

The Washington Senior Legion baseball team dropped to 1-1 on the season following a 3-0 loss to House Springs Monday afternoon at Ronsick Field. Washington was mounting a threat in the home half of the seventh inning when Jack Kopmann led off with a walk and Trent Leimkuehler reached on an error. Clean up hitter Sam Katzung was at the plate with an 0-1 count when the rain, wind and lightning moved in. The game was called giving House Springs the win. Post 783 improves to 1-2. Washington is right back in action this evening with a road game against Daniel Boone at C&H Park.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is 5-6 Freshman Basketball Player Cassidy Moss from St. Francis Borgia Regional High School in Washington. Cassidy was named the Most Valuable Player of the Sullivan Tournament last week and was an important part of Borgia's run to the title. She is averaging 15 points and 2.5 rebounds, more than three assists and two steals per game.
