AN OPEN GAY RIGHTS CONVERSATION

Audio:

Every once in a while, a conversation arises on Ticked Off Tuesday that really makes me think. Such was the case when a listener called in about an experience with a local establishment in which she believed she was turned away on the basis of her sexual orientation. What followed was something we see less and less of these days in an era of popular culture groupthink--a genuine, heartfelt, civil discussion on what has become a very divisive issue.

Groupthink does not change minds; rather, all too often it simply creates resentment and drives true feelings underground. The result is not transformation, it is division.

Click the above link to hear more about this conversation, and why our society is in desperate need of more like it.

There are few things more inspiring in life than watching an octogenarain with two hip replacements swimming a 200 yard race, or guys in their late 70's playing some pretty vigorous 3 on 3 basketball. A generation of baby boomers is learning that, while they can't reverse age, they certainly can embrace life!
