Wild Wild Cards

The Indianapolis Colts and New Orleans Saints are moving on after the first day of the NFL playoffs. The Colts completed the second-biggest comeback in postseason history, rallying from 28 down to edge the Kansas City Chiefs at home, 45-44. Indianapolis fell down 38-10 early in the third quarter before going on its run. The Colts will face the Patriots or Broncos next week. The Saints used a Shayne Graham field goal as time expired to clip the Philadelphia Eagles on the road, 26-24. The win is the first on the road in the postseason in New Orleans history. The Saints travel to face the Seahawks next week. The two games mark the first time in NFL postseason history that a pair of contests were decided by a combined two points or fewer on the same day.

Wild Card Weekend wraps up on Sunday with two more games. The early contest features the Cincinnati Bengals hosting the San Diego Chargers at Paul Brown Stadium. If the third-seeded Bengals hold serve, they would travel next week to play the Patriots while the Colts meet the Broncos. If San Diego pulls the upset, the Bolts meet Denver on the road while Indianapolis travels to New England. The NFC matchup features the San Francisco 49ers traveling to the frozen tundra of Lambeau Field to clash with the Green Bay Packers. Temperatures are expected to be in the negative digits during the game. The winner of the contest heads to Carolina next weekend to face the Panthers.

If you want to get someone's attention, whisper. That old investment brokerage ad is the opposite of what is going on regarding shootings in Ferguson and Tower Grove. When people threaten violence or blankly label one as a racist, it's very hard to listen. The same holds true for those who sum up the plight of impoverished black communities as "that's how those people are."
