Varlamov Helps Avs Blank Blues

Semyon Varlamov stopped all 31 shots he faced for his second shutout of the season and led the Avalanche to a 4-0 win over the Blues at Scottrade Center. Varlamov now has 13 shutouts in his career. Paul Stastny had a goal and two assists while Nathan MacKinnon netted a goal and helper of his own. Nick Holden and Ryan O'Reilly also scored for Colorado, which has won six straight. Ryan Miller stopped 25 shots in defeat for St. Louis. Despite the loss, the Blues still lead the Western Conference with 111 points.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is 5-6 Freshman Basketball Player Cassidy Moss from St. Francis Borgia Regional High School in Washington. Cassidy was named the Most Valuable Player of the Sullivan Tournament last week and was an important part of Borgia's run to the title. She is averaging 15 points and 2.5 rebounds, more than three assists and two steals per game.
