Sobotka Placed on Injured Reserve

St. Louis Blues President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced Friday the club has placed forward Vladimir Sobotka on injured reserve with an upper-body injury. Sobotka has missed three games and did not travel on the team's two-game road trip to Edmonton and Calgary. The 26-year-old has appeared in 31 games this season, posting 15 points (five goals and 10 assists) to go along with a league-leading 61.8% win rate on faceoffs. For his career, the 5-foot-11, 200-pound forward has totaled 105 points (31 goals, 74 assists) and 246 penalty minutes in 351 games. The Trebic, Czech Republic native was originally acquired by the Blues from Boston in exchange for David Warsofsky on June 26, 2010.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is 6-0 Senior Forward Megan Jensen with the St. Francis Borgia Girls Basketball Team. Megan scored 24 points leading Borgia to a 52-47 win over Cardinal Ritter in the championship game of the Borgia/Competitive Edge Tournament Saturday afternoon. In three tournament games last week. Megan scored 63 points and earned MVP honors.

When our daughter turned 13, as part of her birthday celebration we drove 13 seventh-grade girls to the mall. As one of the drivers, I can attest that a vanload of young adolescent girls generates plenty of chatter...and plenty of drama.
