Shockers Enter NCAA Tourney Perfect

Fred VanVleet tallied 22 points to help the second-ranked Shockers drop Indiana State 83-69 in the final of the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament. The win advances Wichita State to the NCAA Tournament with a perfect 34-and-0 record. They are the first team since UNLV in 1991 to enter March Madness undefeated. This is the third straight NCAA Tournament appearance for the Shockers, who made it to the Final Four as a nine-seed last season. Justin Gant and Manny Arop each had 18 points in the loss. Indiana State ends the regular season 23-and-10 and 12-and-6 in the MVC.
