Rams' Quinn Makes Play In Pro Bowl

Rams defensive end Robert Quinn was credited with a sack in Sunday's Pro Bowl at Aloha Stadium. Quinn played on the winning side, Team Jerry Rice. Rice's all-stars won 22-21. Rams punter Johnny Hekker punted four times for 196 yards.

Justin Tucker missed a 67-yard field goal attempt as time expired as Team Rice held on for a 22-21 win over Team Sanders at the Pro Bowl from Aloha Stadium in Honolulu. DeMarco Murray caught a 20-yard touchdown pass from Alex Smith and Team Rice went for two, connecting on Mike Tolbert's run for the conversion and the lead with 41 seconds to play. Smith finished with 116 yards passing while he and teammates Philip Rivers and Drew Brees combined to throw three TDs and four interceptions. Team Sanders' Nick Foles was named Offensive MVP after going 7-of-10 for 89 yards and a score. Derrick Johnson of Team Rice was named Defensive MVP after recording nine tackles.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Union Post 297 Senior American Legion Baseball Player Trey Fink. Earlier this season in a game against St. Peters, Trey pitched a complete game with 11 strike outs and no walks in an 8-1 win. He also went the distance in a tough luck 6-1 loss to Washington. He only gave up four hits with 13 strike outs and one walk. Time and again, Trey has proven his ability to go deep into games.

The shootings at Emmanuel AME Church in Charleston, South Carolina, however, stands out for two main reasons.

It involved race, and it was done it a church.

The Washington Seniors played two games Sunday and finished 1-1 for the day. Post 218 thrashed Pacific 29-4 with Mitch Barrow posting five hits. In the second game, Washington lost to Warrenton 4-3 at Warrenton High School. Ben Stephens pitched a complete game with nine strike outs and five walks to post the win. The game was tied at two after the first inning.
