Orioles Rock Cardinals

For a second straight game the Orioles crushed the Cardinals 10-3 at Camden Yards in their three-game series. Nelson Cruz smacked his 30th homer, while Caleb Joseph and Delmon Young also left the yard. It was Joseph's fifth straight start with a home run. Young had two hits and three RBI and Ubaldo Jimenez grabbed his fourth win in his return to the rotation. Jimenez allowed three runs over six innings making his first start since early in July. John Jay connected for a long ball and drove in two in the loss. John Lackey was lit up for nine runs and 13 hits in five-plus innings to fall to 1-and-1 for St. Louis. The Cardinals lost the opener of the set, 12-2.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is State Champion Wrestler Dalton Voyles from Pacific High School. Dalton won the class 3 title at 182 pounds with a 6-2 decision over Zach Courtoise of Kearney Saturday at the University of Missouri-Columbia. It caps off a tremendous season for Dalton with a 56-2 record. Dalton, who is very good on his feet, took control early in the bout in securing the win over Courtoise.

Paul Stastny netted the game-winner with 5:40 to play to give the Blues a 2-1 win over the Oilers at Rexall Place. Dmitrij Jaskin found the back of the net as well and Brian Elliot had 21 saves. The victory was St. Louis's fourth straight on the road. Ben Scrivens gave up both goals on 27 shots for Edmonton, which has dropped five of its last seven. Justin Schultz scored the Oilers' lone goal in the loss.
