NHLPA Approves Realignment Plan

The NHL Players' Association is signing off on the league's realignment plan. The NHL plans to go from six to four divisions next season. The top three teams in each division will qualify for the postseason, with four other wild cards making up the 16-team playoff field. The realignment plan is still subject to approval by the NHL Board of Governors. If approved, realignment will make travel more efficient as well as restore multiple matchups with some traditional rivals.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is 6-0 Senior Forward Megan Jensen with the St. Francis Borgia Girls Basketball Team. Megan scored 24 points leading Borgia to a 52-47 win over Cardinal Ritter in the championship game of the Borgia/Competitive Edge Tournament Saturday afternoon. In three tournament games last week. Megan scored 63 points and earned MVP honors.

Denver Bronco fans are celebrating their team's dominating 24-10 win over the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl 50. Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning tells ABC's "Good Morning America" he celebrated late into the night. Manning lifted the Lombardi Trophy for the second time in his career in what might have been his final game. Manning turns 40 next month and is expected to retire.
