Mizzou's Mauk Ready For Gators

Tigers red shirt freshman quarterback Maty Mauk will start his first college game in place of the injured James Franklin this Saturday against the Florida Gators at Faurot Field. Mauk finished his high school career as the nation’s all-time leader for high school passing yards, touchdowns, completions and total offense. Kick-off is set for 11:21 a.m.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Senior Legion Baseball Player Spencer Juergens from Washington Post 218. As a pitcher, Spencer is currently 6-0 with 32 strike outs and only four walks. He's given up seven runs, three earned over 36 innings and his ERA is .736. As a hitter, Spencer's average is .500 with 14 rbi's and 11 runs scored. In 44 official at bats, Spencer has struck out just five times with two walks.

The shootings at Emmanuel AME Church in Charleston, South Carolina, however, stands out for two main reasons.

It involved race, and it was done it a church.
