Loe Nets Double-Double, but Bills Fall at Temple

Saint Louis saw its nine-game winning streak halted at Temple Saturday night, falling 64-54 to the Owls in Atlantic 10 Conference men's basketball action at the Liacouras Center. The Billikens (12-4, 1-1 A-10) were led by Rob Loe, who registered the first double-double of his career with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Dwayne Evans chipped in nine points and pulled down a team-season-high 13 rebounds.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Freshman Cross Country Runner Julia McIntyre from New Haven High School. Julia finished sixth in the state meet in Jefferson City with a time of 20:58.40 at the Oak Hills Golf Course in Jefferson City earlier this month. She helped her team to a 12th place finish. Julia was a straight A student at Franklin County R-2 and she continues to get A's in high school.

Scottie Upshall scored the game-winning goal early in the third period to help the Blues slip by the Blue Jackets 3-1 at the Scottrade Center. Vladimir Tarasenko added his 14th goal of the season and Jake Allen made 23 saves to earn the win for St. Louis, which improved to 15-6-and-3. Ryan Johansen tallied the lone goal for Columbus, which had won two straight. Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 29 of 31 shots in the loss.
