Baseball...
The Union Wildcats travelled to Hermann to play the Bearcats in a Four Rivers Conference match-up and returned home with a 5-4 eight inning victory. The Wildcats banged out eight hits and committed five errors with seven runners left on while Hermann finished with seven hits, four errors and 11 left on. Trey Fink was the winning pitcher and Andrew Budnik suffered the loss. Both teams are 3-5 overall, Union moves to 2-1 in the conference while Hermann drops to 0-2.

Washington 5 Fort Zumwalt East 0. Aaron Meyer pitched a complete game with five strike outs and no walks.

St. James 11 St. Clair 4. Nathan Straight finished the game with six runs batted in.

Sullivan 12 Owensville 2

Pacific outscored New Haven 20-10. Hank Vandaveer had three hits with three rbi. Noah Brocato doubled twice with four batted in.

Golf...
Warrenton Tournament-Warrenton took first with a 161, followed by St. Charles West with a 175 and St. Charles with a 185. Ethan Luecke of Warrenton was the medalist with a 37 for his round.

Washington defeated Fort Zumwalt South 148-176. Brad Carpenter of Washington shot the low score for the day, a 29 on Senior Night.

Three team event in Sullivan. The host Eagles took first with a 166, followed by Owensville with a 184 and Pacific at 192. Co-Medalists were Logan Moritz and Zane West-Derby of Owensville.

Girls Soccer...
Windsor Tournament-Championship Game
Washington beat Union 5-4 in double overtime. Arika Elliot scored the game winner.
Pacific took third place with an 8-1 win over Windsor.

ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Gus Kleekamp with the Washington Junior Legion Baseball Team. Gus played shortstop and occasionally pitched during the season. His numbers are impressive. Batting average .409, on-base percentage .504 with a slugging percentage of .582. Gus lead the team not only with his average but also in RBI with 26, triples with five and stolen bases with 28.

There are few things more inspiring in life than watching an octogenarain with two hip replacements swimming a 200 yard race, or guys in their late 70's playing some pretty vigorous 3 on 3 basketball. A generation of baby boomers is learning that, while they can't reverse age, they certainly can embrace life!

St. Louis held training camp over the weekend but will be off today before resuming practice tomorrow. Quarterback Sam Bradford practiced on back-to-back days for the first time since suffering his season ending knee injury. St. Louis will put the pads on early this week as they prepare for their preseason contest against the Saints on August 8th.
