Baseball...
The Borgia Knights remained unbeaten with an 8-5 win over the Washington Blue Jays. Matt Jones was the winning pitcher. Jones also broke a 5-5 tie in the sixth with a two run homer down the left field line. Nathaniel Hillermann finished the game with three hits and a run scored. For Washington, Jared Walde had two doubles. The Jays drop to 5-4.

Washington defeated Holt at Wolf Hollow.

Borgia beat Kennedy 216-230. Borgia's Alex Rennick earned the medal with an even par 35.

Sullivan won a tri-match with a 162. St. James was second with a 181 and St. Clair was third with a 207. Tylor Carrico medalled with a 37.

Owensville defeated Hermann at Loutre Shores.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Gus Kleekamp with the Washington Junior Legion Baseball Team. Gus played shortstop and occasionally pitched during the season. His numbers are impressive. Batting average .409, on-base percentage .504 with a slugging percentage of .582. Gus lead the team not only with his average but also in RBI with 26, triples with five and stolen bases with 28.

There are few things more inspiring in life than watching an octogenarain with two hip replacements swimming a 200 yard race, or guys in their late 70's playing some pretty vigorous 3 on 3 basketball. A generation of baby boomers is learning that, while they can't reverse age, they certainly can embrace life!

After a day off, the Cardinals return to the diamond tonight for the first of a three-game series with the Padres from Petco Park. St. Louis is 56-and-48 this season and trots Lance Lynn to the hill. Lynn is 11-and-7 with a 3.05 ERA. San Diego counters with 9-and-10 Tyson Ross who has a 2.65 ERA this season. First pitch is at 9:10.
