Boys Class 4 Sectional at Missouri S&T in Rolla...
Jordan Miller hit the game winning shot just outside the free throw line as time ran out giving St. Francis Borgia a thrilling 47-45 win over Hillcrest. Miller finished the game with 14 points. Casey Kuchem led the Knights with 16. Borgia improves to 20-8 and will play Republic in the quarterfinal Saturday at 1:00 at Drury in Springfield. Republic is 27-4 going in.

Boys Class 5 Sectional at Camdenton High School...
The Washington Blue Jays gave the heavily favored Hickman Kewpies all they could handle forcing the game into overtime. Hickman prevailed 53-49 ending the season for Washington at 17-9. Luke Schroepfer scored 22 of Washington's points in the second half and the extra session.

Girls Class 4 Sectional at Missouri S&T in Rolla...
Sullivan took care of Bolivar 51-41. The Lady Eagles improve to 24-4 and will face Webb City in the quarterfinal at 2:45 at Drury Saturday afternoon. Webb City has a record of 23-5.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Junior Middle Hitter Amanda Vollmer with the Washington High School Volleyball Team. Amanda currently has 58 kills on the year and is averaging more than two kills per game. She also sports a 97.46 serve percentage with seven aces. Amanda is also a good defender with 30 blocks and 38 digs on the season.

On Saturday, September 6, our family lost a dear friend to a car accident. Listeners know her as Lexi the Impulse Puppy. It surprised us a bit just how much the loss struck us--a tribute to just how much that dog loved us--and just how much we loved that dog. Dogs are not the same as people, but they certainly tap into the very best of us.
