Union knocked off Orchard Farm 61-26 with Alyssa Coons knocking down 20 points.

St. Clair topped McClure North 51-32. Karissa Hoffmann recorded a double/double with 18 points and 13 rebounds. Allison Hinson added 12 points and six steals.

Consolation semifinal-New Haven 47 Wellsville 22. Rachel Steinhoff led the rocks with 22.

ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Senior Golfer Brad Carpenter from Washington High School. In a recent match against Fort Zumwalt South at Wolf Hollow, Brad carded a six under par 29 to lead the team to a 148-176 win over the Bulldogs. Brad will attend Missouri State University in Springfield on a golf and academic scholarship. He started playing golf at the age of 12 and developed an immediate love for the game.

I am a woman. I would be more than happy to have more money in my paycheck. Too bad the Paycheck Fairness Act won't do that for me. Who wants "equality" if it comes because everyone makes less money?

Nonetheless, the Paycheck Fairness Act is the latest weapon in the War On Women, part II--2014 election style.

Wily Peralta pitched one-run ball into the seventh inning as the Brewers beat the Cardinals 5-1 at Miller Park. Peralta allowed six hits and a walk over six and a third innings to improve to 2-and-0 with the win. Aramis Ramirez went 3-for-4 with an RBI and Jonathan Lucroy singled home two runs for Milwaukee, which salvaged the finale of the three-game series. Joe Kelly gave up just an unearned run in four innings, but took the loss.
