Local College Sports

The ECC athletic seasons have begun for the Falcons in volleyball and soccer. The Falcons were able to collect victories over the weekend in their respective matches. The volleyball team knocked off Region 16 rival and NJCAA #20 MCC-Longview in the Johnson County Tournament by scores of 25-21, 15-25, 25-23,25-23. The soccer team was able to cruise to a 4-0 victory over the Missouri Baptist Spartans JV.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Senior Golfer Brad Carpenter from Washington High School. In a recent match against Fort Zumwalt South at Wolf Hollow, Brad carded a six under par 29 to lead the team to a 148-176 win over the Bulldogs. Brad will attend Missouri State University in Springfield on a golf and academic scholarship. He started playing golf at the age of 12 and developed an immediate love for the game.
