St. Francis Borgia remained unbeaten in the AAA Conference with a 45-34 win over Duchesne. Emily Grahl pumped in 19 points to lead the Lady Knights while Janie Arand added 16. Duchesne was led by the Reimer sisters, Jordan and Courtney, with 10 points apiece. Borgia improves to 17-2 overall and 5-0 in league action. Duchesne dips to 15-5 and 3-2.

Elsewhere...

New Haven defeated St. Clair 44-39 in the third place game of the Hermann Tournament. Rachel Steinhoff scored 19 for New Haven.

St. James 73 Miller Career 65. Devin Fuhring scored 18 points and pulled down eight rebounds. Ashlee Marlatt scored 10 points and is now the all time career leader in three point baskets at St. James with 167. The old record was held by Amy King.

ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Junior Basketball Player Hailey Diestelkamp with the Owensville Dutchgirls. She recently became the all-time scoring leader at Owensville High School surpassing Katie Davis. Hailey played volleyball her first two years of high school, but after suffering an injury playing basketball last summer, she decided to focus on basketball this year. Hailey runs track in the spring.

It came as a shock to a lot of people to find out that the contract for the Union license office, which has been operated by the Union Chamber of Commerce since the 1970's, was being turned over to a for-profit company based out of Jefferson City.

What happened? It's a classic case of two all-too-common phenomena in the world of government--unintended consequences and the revolving door.

Saint Louis erased a nine-point second half deficit and had a shot to win it late, but fell 60-56 against UMass Saturday in a thrilling Atlantic 10 Conference game at Chaifetz Arena. It was the fourth loss in a row for the Billikens, who fall to 9-12 overall and 1-7 in league play. UMass improves to 12-9 overall and 5-3 in the A-10. The Billikens had the ball down by two with the shot clock off.
