Laurence Bowers recorded a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds, as 12th-ranked Missouri used a big second half to beat Tennessee State, 68-38. Alex Oriakhi added 15 points and 10 boards for Missouri (8-1), which is off to an 8-1 start for the third consecutive season. Stefan Jankovic donated 14 points. Missouri has won 71 straight home games against non-conference opponents. Robert Covington and Jordan Cyphers had 12 and 11 points, respectively, for Tennessee State (4-6), which had a three-game winning streak snapped.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Senior Taylor Covington with the New Haven Track and Field Team. Taylor earned All-State honors medaling in four events at the state track meet at Lincoln University in Jefferson City Friday and Saturday. She ran anchor on the 4X800 relay team that finished in sixth place.

Commencement, it is said, is a beginning. Yet graduations are also the end of an era--for students and their parents. For the kids, it's a time of excitement and promise. For parents, it's a bit more bittersweet.

What will the future hold for the Class of 2015? Time will tell.

My youngest has now graduated from high school. Back in 1980, I was the youngest of my family who graduated.

In Senior Legion Baseball...
Washington improved to 2-0 with a 2-1 win over Creve Coeur at Ronsick Field. Matt Miller scored the winning run on a sac fly in foul ground off the bat of Matt McGilvray in the bottom of the seventh inning. The left fielder made a spectacular catch, but Miller tagged up and headed home with the winning run. Spencer Juergens was the winning pitcher.
