Dodgers Hold Off Cardinals

Adrian Gonzalez had three hits and drove in three runs, one of those on a solo home run, to lead the Dodgers to a 5-3 win over the Cardinals. Nick Punto added three hits and scored twice and turned in the defensive play of the game when he dived to stop a sharp ground ball headed down the left-field line that kept the score tied. Paco Rodriguez got his first win of the season in relief and Brandon League earned his 10th save. Yadier Molina had three hits for the Cards. St. Louis starting pitcher John Gast left the game in the second inning with shoulder tightness. Seth Maness took the loss out of the bullpen and is 3-and-1.
