Louisville guard Kevin Ware remained in an Indianapolis hospital Monday after
undergoing surgery to repair a broken right leg. Ware was hurt when he landed
after attempting to block a shot and sustained a compound fracture with the
bone sticking out of the leg. A two-hour procedure on Sunday night included
the insertion of a rod to stabilize the bone. A timetable has not been set for
his return to competition, but Louisville coach Rick Pitino said Monday he
expects Ware will be able to travel to Atlanta for the Final Four next
weekend.
