College Basketball

The NCAA Tournament gets underway tonight with a pair of "First Four" games
from Dayton. The opener pits North Carolina A&T, the MEAC Tournament winner,
battling Big South champion Liberty for the right to play Midwest Region top
seed Louisville on Thursday. The nightcap is also from the Midwest Region and
features Saint Mary's and Middle Tennessee, with the winner set to face
Memphis in the second round.

Baylor, Stanford, Connecticut and Notre Dame earned No. 1 seeds for the
women's NCAA basketball tournament for the second straight year. All four
programs reached the Final Four a year ago, with Baylor defeating Notre Dame
in the title game for its second national championship.

OFF THE CUFF with Diane Jones

August 9, 2014, will forever be marked in the history books as the date Michael Brown was shot by a Ferguson police officer.

It is the aftermath of that event, however, which history will forever remember. The protesters, the looters, the agitators, the Hands Up Don't Shoot movement, the dramatic announcement of the grand jury, the buildings up in flames. In the process, the community and image of Ferguson was destroyed.
