Cards Clash With Cubs Again Tonight

The Cardinals and Cubs play the third of their four-game series tonight at Busch Stadium. Michael Wacha puts his 2-and-3 mark on the line opposite Chicago's Jason Hammel, who is 4-and-1. The teams will close out the series with an afternoon game tomorrow.

Greg Garcia was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 12th as the Cardinals notched a 4-3 win over the Cubs at Busch Stadium. Jhonny Peralta went 3-for-5 with an RBI while Matt Adams was 2-for-4 and knocked one in. Seth Maness notched the win in relief.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Gus Kleekamp with the Washington Post 218 Junior American Legion Baseball Team. Gus pitches, plays shortstop and bats third on the Junior Legion team that won the state championship in Blue Springs over the weekend. He posted the save in a 4-3 win over Festus in the title game. His batting average is .400 with 47-rbi and 47 runs scored. As a pitcher, he's 5-0 with an ERA of 1.631 and a WHIP of .961.
