Cardinals Sign Shortstop Peralta

The Cardinals will have a new shortstop next season. The club signed former Detroit shortstop Jhonny Peralta to a four-year contract worth more than 50 million dollars, according to the "St. Louis Post Dispatch." The two-time All-Star batted .303 with 11 home runs in 107 games for the Tigers in 2013. Peralta was suspended 50 games in the aftermath of the Biogenesis performance-enhancing drug investigation.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Garrett Leimkuehler, Sophomore Quarterback for the Hermann Bearcats. Garrett has completed 58% of his passes, 22 of 38 for 441 yards, six touchdowns and two interceptions. He has also carried the ball 36 times for 371 yards for 13 touchdowns and he is averaging more than 10 yards per carry.

On Saturday, September 6, our family lost a dear friend to a car accident. Listeners know her as Lexi the Impulse Puppy. It surprised us a bit just how much the loss struck us--a tribute to just how much that dog loved us--and just how much we loved that dog.
