Cardinals Make Qualifying Offer To Beltran

If outfielder Carlos Beltran leaves the Cardinals, the team won't go uncompensated. St. Louis has extended a qualifying offer to the right fielder, which is valued at one year for 14.1-million-dollars. The Cardinals will be eligible to receive a compensatory draft pick should he sign elsewhere. Beltran hit .296 with 24 homers and 84 RBI during the regular season. The 36-year-old then homered twice and drove in 15 runs during the Cards' playoff run to the World Series.

The protesters, the looters, the agitators, the Hands Up Don't Shoot movement, the dramatic announcement of the grand jury, the buildings up in flames.
