Cardinals Fly Past Fish

Matt Holliday and Matt Adams each doubled in a run as the Cardinals went on to a 4-1 win over the Marlins in St. Louis. Allen Craig also doubled in a run and added a sac-fly for the Cards, who have won two out of three after dropping four-of-five. Jake Westbrook tossed seven innings of one-run ball to improve to 5-and-3 while Edward Mujica notched his 22nd save. Jacob Turner surrendered four runs in six innings to fall to 2-and-1 for Miami. Logan Morrison popped a solo homer for the Fish, who had won eight out of ten coming in.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Junior Running Back/Defensive Back Jonathan Braun with the St. Francis Borgia Knight Football Team. Braun ran the ball 21 times for 195 yards and two touchdowns in Friday night's 31-19 win over the Union Wildcats, averaging 9.3 yards per carry. He also plays defensive back where he made one tackle.

August 9, 2014, will forever be marked in the history books as the date Michael Brown was shot by a Ferguson police officer.

It is the aftermath of that event, however, which history will forever remember. The protesters, the looters, the agitators, the Hands Up Don't Shoot movement, the dramatic announcement of the grand jury, the buildings up in flames. In the process, the community and image of Ferguson was destroyed.
