Cardinals Double Up Padres

Lance Lynn struck out six over six innings of one-run ball to lead the Cardinals in a 4-2 win over the Padres at Busch Stadium. Lynn improved to 13-and-8 while Pat Neshek recorded his fourth save despite allowing a run in the ninth. Matt Adams and Jhonny Peralta each went 2-for-4 with an RBI for St. Louis, which has won three straight since losing four of five. Tyson Ross fell to 11-and-11 after giving up three runs in six innings for San Diego. Yasmani Grandal hit a solo homer for the Padres, who have dropped two straight since a five-game win streak.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Freshman Cross Country Runner Julia McIntyre from New Haven High School. Julia finished sixth in the state meet in Jefferson City with a time of 20:58.40 at the Oak Hills Golf Course in Jefferson City earlier this month. She helped her team to a 12th place finish. Julia was a straight A student at Franklin County R-2 and she continues to get A's in high school.

Alex Collins ran for 130 yards and three touchdowns as the Missouri Tigers fell to Arkansas, 28-3, Friday afternoon at Reynolds Razorback Stadium. The defense for Mizzou could have hardly started any better, as they allowed positive yardage on just one of Arkansas' first eight plays. In all, five of those eight plays went for negative yardage, including a Ricky Hatley sack to give the defense two three-and-outs to start the game.
