Cardinals Crush Giants With Nine-Run Fourth

Matt Adams two-run double helped spark a nine-run fourth inning as the Cardinals crushed the Giants, 14-3. Matt Carpenter went 3-for-5 with three RBI for St. Louis, which took two-of-three at AT&T Park. Adam Wainwright pitched seven innings of two-run ball for the win.

After a week on the road, the Cardinals will play their home opener this afternoon. They host the Reds in the first of a three-game series at Busch Stadium. Jaime Garcia opposes Mat Latos. Cincinnati is 4-and-2, while the Cardinals are 3-and-3.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Senior Golfer Brad Carpenter from Washington High School. In a recent match against Fort Zumwalt South at Wolf Hollow, Brad carded a six under par 29 to lead the team to a 148-176 win over the Bulldogs. Brad will attend Missouri State University in Springfield on a golf and academic scholarship. He started playing golf at the age of 12 and developed an immediate love for the game.
