Blues Open Regular Season Thursday

With the preseason over, the Blues are looking ahead to the start of the regular season. St. Louis will open at home Thursday night against the Predators. The Blues will play their first five games at home against Nashville, Florida, Chicago, the Rangers and San Jose. The Blues beat the Wild 4-1 on Friday to finish the preseason 3-2-and-1.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is State Champion Wrestler Dalton Voyles from Pacific High School. Dalton won the class 3 title at 182 pounds with a 6-2 decision over Zach Courtoise of Kearney Saturday at the University of Missouri-Columbia. It caps off a tremendous season for Dalton with a 56-2 record. Dalton, who is very good on his feet, took control early in the bout in securing the win over Courtoise.

Saint Louis dropped a 78-50 decision to George Mason Saturday night in an Atlantic 10 Conference men’s basketball matchup at Chaifetz Arena. SLU falls to 11-18 overall and 3-13 in A-10 play, while George Mason improves to 9-19 and 4-12 in the league. The 28-point loss is SLU’s largest margin of defeat at Chaifetz Arena. Davell Roby and Reggie Agbeko tied for team-high honors with 10 points apiece.
