Blues' Nichol Retires From Playing

"The St. Louis Post Dispatch" reports that veteran Scott Nichol is retiring from the NHL after 12 seasons. Nichol is a 38-year-old defenseman who spent the past two seasons with the Blues. He has accepted a job as director of player development with the Nashville Predators, with which he spent four seasons.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is 5-6 Freshman Basketball Player Cassidy Moss from St. Francis Borgia Regional High School in Washington. Cassidy was named the Most Valuable Player of the Sullivan Tournament last week and was an important part of Borgia's run to the title. She is averaging 15 points and 2.5 rebounds, more than three assists and two steals per game.
