Blues Closing Out Regular Season

The Blues host the Calgary Flames tonight with a chance to win their fifth straight at home. St. Louis can still get home-ice advantage in the first round of the playoffs. The Blues are 27-17-and 2 on the season.

The St. Louis Blues have teamed up with the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League for the next three years. The Wolves joined the AHL in 2001 and were partnered with the Atlanta Thrashers until they moved to become the new Winnipeg Jets. The Wolves were affiliated with the Vancouver Canucks the last two seasons.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Senior Golfer Brad Carpenter from Washington High School. In a recent match against Fort Zumwalt South at Wolf Hollow, Brad carded a six under par 29 to lead the team to a 148-176 win over the Bulldogs. Brad will attend Missouri State University in Springfield on a golf and academic scholarship. He started playing golf at the age of 12 and developed an immediate love for the game.

Wily Peralta pitched one-run ball into the seventh inning as the Brewers beat the Cardinals 5-1 at Miller Park. Peralta allowed six hits and a walk over six and a third innings to improve to 2-and-0 with the win. Aramis Ramirez went 3-for-4 with an RBI and Jonathan Lucroy singled home two runs for Milwaukee, which salvaged the finale of the three-game series. Joe Kelly gave up just an unearned run in four innings, but took the loss.
