Billikens Oust UMass, Capture A-10 Title Outright

Saint Louis senior guard Jordair Jett’s game-winning layup in the final seconds propelled the Billikens to a 64-62 victory at UMass Sunday in the Atlantic 10 Conference regular-season finale. With the win, the Billikens (26-5, 13-3 A-10) clinched the A-10 regular-season title outright for the second season in a row. SLU will be the No. 1 seed at next week’s A-10 Championship in Brooklyn, with its first game being Friday at 11 a.m. (CT) at Barclays Center.

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Senior Swimmer Michael Matthews from St. Francis Borgia Regional High School in Washington. Michael medalled in two events at the state swim meet at the St. Peters Rec-Plex. He took 7th in the 50-Yard Freestyle and 4th in the 100-Yard Butterfly. Michael also medalled in four events in the AAA Conference meet, helping Borgia secure the conference title.
