Gus pitches, plays shortstop and bats third on the Junior Legion team that won the state championship in Blue Springs over the weekend. He posted the save in a 4-3 win over Festus in the title game. His batting average is .400 with 47-rbi and 47 runs scored.

The Washington Post 218 Seniors are headed to state. Washington cruised through the zone 1 tournament capping off their run with a 14-9 win over Moberly in the championship game Sunday afternoon. Washington led by 10 into the bottom of the ninth. Matt Miller was the winning pitcher as Washington improved to 33-3 on the season. Ross Seitter, Aaron Meyer and Nate Hillermann all had two hits apiece. Washington banged out 14 as a team.
