LIVE FOR THE DRIVE is a fast-paced news, sports, talk and information show featuring Dick Rice and Colin Schowe. With local news, sports and weather on the half hour, plus listener favorites like Athlete of the Week, the Dave Ramsey Money Makeover Minute, entertainment news, Off the Cuff, funeral annoucements and more, it's a show you won' t want to miss.

KLPW is pleased to add a new feature to Live for the Drive--local and national sports talk with listener call-ins. This segment airs Monday through Thursday at 5:45. On Friday, it's "Captain Don" Grahl of the J & W Cycles Outdoors show talks hunting, fishing and the great outdoors at 5:45.

Dick Rice is a military veteran and graduate of Washington High School who got his start at KLPW in the 1960's. From there, he went on to run the Washington Chamber of Commerce and continued his career ascent. Dick brings a wide variety of knowledge and experience on a host of topics and also serves as KLPW's afternoon news director.

Colin Schowe is a 2007 graduate of Washington High School and 2011 graduate of Southeast Missouri State University. Colin also serves as a sports color commentator and sportscaster for KLPW. He brings a lot of expertise and knowledge on both local and national sports.

ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

The KLPW Radio Athlete of the Week is Borgia Freshman Golfer Thomas Alferman. Alferman is a member of the Borgia team that qualified for the state tournament at Silo Ridge in Boliver this week. In the district tournament at the Sullivan Country Club, Thomas shot a 13 over par 84 helping the team to a second place finish.

Commencement, it is said, is a beginning. Yet graduations are also the end of an era--for students and their parents. For the kids, it's a time of excitement and promise. For parents, it's a bit more bittersweet.

What will the future hold for the Class of 2015? Time will tell.

My youngest has now graduated from high school. Back in 1980, I was the youngest of my family who graduated.

The Cardinals and Royals renew their I-70 rivalry tonight in Kansas City. It's a battle of first-place teams, with Lance Lynn slated to oppose the Royals' Chris Young in the opener of the three-game set. The teams will rematch with three more games at Busch Stadium in mid-June.
